Meet Dr. Rod Opferkew — Chiropractor in Bloomington, MN
23 years of chiropractic experience. One focus: helping you find real relief and get back to the life you want to live.
A Chiropractor Who Takes the Time to Get It Right
Dr. Rod Opferkew earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN, the same city where he now serves his patients. His academic foundation began at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he completed a B.A. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Religious Studies.
Before opening Riverview Spine, Dr. Rod spent more than nine years treating patients in St. Louis Park, where he helped thousands of people across all ages find relief from pain and improve their quality of life. He taught spinal care classes at his clinic twice a month to help patients understand their condition and take an active role in their recovery.
In 2014, Dr. Rod opened Riverview Spine in Bloomington with a clear purpose: to create a space where patients feel genuinely supported and cared for. He is not interested in high-volume, in-and-out care. His goal is to identify the root cause of your pain and build a plan that produces lasting results, not just temporary relief.

The Approach Behind the Care
Dr. Rod’s philosophy is straightforward. He believes that most patients who come to him have already tried to push through the pain and that they deserve a provider who will actually listen, assess thoroughly, and build a care plan around their specific situation. His practice is built on evidence-based methods and personalized attention, not assumptions.
When you come to Riverview Spine, Dr. Rod will take the time to understand your history, examine the problem area carefully, and explain what he finds before recommending anything. Decisions about care are made together, and you will always know what the plan is and why
Outside the Office
Dr. Rod lives in Eden Prairie and stays active in his local church. He enjoys reading, watching and playing sports, fishing, and traveling. That connection to community and an active life gives him a real appreciation for how much pain can get in the way of the things that matter most.
