Insurance We Accept

Riverview Spine currently accepts the following insurance carriers:

  • Blue Cross / Blue Shield
  • Medica
  • United Health Care
  • Medicare
  • Health Partners

Coverage and benefit levels vary by individual plan. We recommend calling your insurance provider directly before your visit to confirm your chiropractic benefits, including whether a deductible applies, what your copay is, and how many visits per year are covered. If you would like help thinking through those questions before you call your insurer, our team is happy to walk you through what to ask.

Direct Billing

We bill your insurance carrier directly, which means you are not responsible for submitting claims on your own. After your visit, you will receive an explanation of benefits from your insurer outlining what was covered and what, if anything, remains your responsibility.

Self-Pay Patients

We welcome patients who prefer to pay out of pocket, whether by choice or because they do not carry chiropractic insurance coverage. The cost of your visit will be reviewed with you before treatment begins so there are no surprises.

When Will I Know What My Care Costs?

Financial details are reviewed with you before treatment proceeds. If your care plan involves multiple visits, Dr. Rod will discuss the recommended plan and associated costs at the time of your initial assessment. You will have the information you need to make a comfortable, informed decision before committing to anything.

Common Questions About Insurance and Payment

Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?

No. You can schedule an appointment directly without a referral.

Is spinal decompression covered by insurance?

Coverage for spinal decompression varies significantly by plan. Some plans include it under chiropractic benefits, while others do not. We recommend calling your insurer directly to ask about coverage for spinal decompression therapy before your visit.

What if my insurance is not on the accepted list?

If your carrier is not listed above, call us. Coverage options and accepted carriers can change, and we will give you the most current information. We also see self-pay patients for whom insurance is not a factor.

Will my insurance cover the full cost of the first visit?

The first visit at Riverview Spine includes a no-cost consultation. Any examination and X-ray fees are subject to your plan’s benefits. We review what your insurance is expected to cover before proceeding with billable services.

What happens if my insurance denies a claim?

We will work with you to understand what occurred and discuss your options. If you have questions about a specific claim, call us and we will review it together.

Questions About Your Coverage?

Call us at (952) 884-1507 and we will do our best to help you understand your options before your visit. We can also help clarify whether a specific service, such as spinal decompression, is typically covered under chiropractic benefits, though actual coverage depends on your individual plan.
